"Sizerin sur Trône Fleuri" is the portrait of a redpoll, namely Sizerin in French. 

"The little history about this painting lies in the title : to paint these flowers, I took my reference from pictures taken during a tour in the magnificent Botanical Gardens of Laeken - Belgium. It is part of the Royal Estates and is opened to public every year for a couple of weeks during spring time. For plants lovers and amateurs of the delicate architecture of 1900's, it is a place not to be overlooked if you come to visit Brussels area in this season. I found that this little bird had a royal countenance resting on its bed of flowers. In French, his name, "Sizerin" is close to "suzerain" a synonym for king. And the flowers pictures originating from a royal place... put two and two together and so came up the title !
